The existing Addis Ababa Exhibition Center will be reconstructed based on Europe Standard within 10 to 12 hectares supported by Consultants from Fira Barcelona, Spain. This was disclosed during a ceremony held at the  Marriott Hotel where the Agreement between the Finance and Economic Development Bureau of the Addis Ababa City Administration and Fira Barcelona of Spain was signed on 20 June 2016. The Guest of Honor was Mr. Abate Stotaw, Deputy Mayor of the Addis Ababa City Administration.
